What’s been catching our eye on the crowdfunding sites this month?

HOLLAND//01 – Forged Carbon Dive Watch

Forged Carbon (though some would argue injection moulded would be more accurate a description) has become a popular ‘exotic’ material for watch cases. This project by first timers Neonos Watches sports a cushion case, sandwich dial and black DLC case back.

Currently available pledge slots start at $550 // £415 // €495.

Tempest Carbon2 – The Affordable Forged Carbon Timepiece

And speaking of forged carbon, the granddaddy of the the crowdfunded carbon case, Tempest, is back for a second edition of their original Carbon watch.

Currently available pledge slots start at $785.

SUPERELLIPSE – Swiss automatic watch, designed in Singapore

Alvin did a more in depth preview of the Superellipse from Jubileon last week. It’s racing through to it’s fundraising goal so if you want one, get in quick for an early bird. At time of writing there is only one $600 AUD slot left.

Currently available pledge slots start at $600 AUD.

VVCO Watch – First Automatic Collection SERIES 8XX1

A tidy dressy watch with bit of a Seiko vibe, it’s got some nice details like the onion crown to make it stand out a bit. If you like Seiko but want something a little bit more unique then this is worth a look.

Currently available pledge slots start at $290 CAD.

No-Watch: 4th collection of unusual 24-hour watches

24hr hand collection

This collection from No-Watch has a fairly standard case and strap offering but what sets it apart is the choice of eight different dial designs and hand configurations. All of the watches use a 24 hour movement (Quartz Swiss Ronda 515.24H) instead of the more common 12 hour movement which creates some quite interesting dial options.

I think my personal favourite is their flagship model, the “Nigra Turo”. This design is a replica of a 24-hour clock (est. 1924) on “Nigra Turo” (Černa věž) tower, located in Klatovy city, Czech Republic. It’s an appealing design with the intricate details on the dial and the crazy hands.

Protos set out to create “an iconic looking, solidly made, modern tool watch, that references the design cues of the classics that started it all.”

The result is a solid Submariner homage featuring a ceramic bezel and a “vintage” lume on the hour markers that goes very well with the black dial. It has all the features you would expect: C3 lume, double dome AR sapphire, 30 ATM water resistance. Speaking of lume, check out this awesome lume shot:
