Zelos is a manufacturer of the latest microbrand watches that’s joining the wave of launches of true GMT watches – Zelos Mako 300M GMT. In the past, GMT watches usually came with a high price tag. Zelos is introducing three new such watches in its Mako series. As we’ve come to expect from Zelos, these watches come with unique dials.
But what is a true GMT watch, and why is it so special? Any GMT watch is a watch that lets you track the time of 2 time zones at once. A true GMT watch allows you to keep track of time in two different time zones at once, with a separate 24-hour hand and a local hour hand that you can adjust independently in one-hour increments. Zelos is launching these watches in its Mako 300M Diver collection. All three watches come in a 40mm 316L Stainless steel case with a thickness of 12.5mm. The watches are water resistant up to 300 meters.
All three models come with a ceramic bezel and with a 316L stainless steel bracelet with an updated quick-adjust clasp.
The first model is the MAKO 300M GMT ‘BLUE METEORITE,’ which comes with a blue meteorite dial. Zelos describes the dial as a Blue PVD meteorite dial.

The indexes and hands are filled in white luminova, and the arrow-shaped GMT hand is yellow. The bezel is also blue and comes with a white 24-hour scale.
The second model is the MAKO 300M GMT ‘FROST,’ which has a white dial that will glow in the dark as the whole dial is colored in luminova. Zelos describes this dial as – Full lume dial with a white ceramic bezel.

The indexes and hands are filled in Grey luminova, and the arrow-shaped GMT hand is orange. The bezel is also white and comes with a black 24-hour scale.

The third model is the MAKO 300M GMT ”MOSAIC MOP’, which comes with a colorful dial, which Zelos describes – Black MOP (Mother Of Pearl) inlaid in a ‘turbine’ Mosaic pattern.
The indexes and hands are filled in white luminova, and the arrow-shaped GMT hand is cyan. The bezel is black and comes with a white 24-hour scale.

All three watches comes with one-year international warranty. The watches will come in a 3-slot travel case with a steel warranty card.
Zelos is using Miyota 9075 caliber, which is a true GMT caliber of course. the 9075 caliber is beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and comes with a 42 hours power reserve.

The MAKO 300M GMT ‘FROST’ comes with a price tag of $529. The MAKO 300M GMT ‘MOSAIC MOP’ comes with a price tag of $549. The MAKO 300M GMT ‘BLUE METEORITE’ is the most expensive model in this collection, as it comes with a price tag of $629.
As mentioned above, True GMT watches used to be watches with a much more expensive price tags. New and much more affordable calibers, such as the Miyota 9075 are allowing microbrand watchmakers to launch these watches and make them accessible to watch enthusiasts. As always with Zelos, the watches are stylish, as each offers a different style.
The Blue Meteorite is more classic with its blue dial and bezel but still offers this unique Meteorite dial, making it unforgettable.
The white Frost watch comes with a clean white look, but once you realize that the whole dial glows in the dark, you will not forget it. The last watch, the Mosaic MOP comes with a colorful dial with a look of a turbine.
