The German-Swiss watch company Davosa is well-known and usually doesn’t require an introduction. But if you’ve just come from a remote island retreat and Davos doesn’t seem familiar, allow us to offer some explanation. This firm is best known for producing exquisite tributes to Rolex sports watches. In addition, it provides a wide range of desirable watch models in sizes ranging from 36.5mm to 42mm. The Davosa Ternos Sixties Faded Blue Seahorse is a unique limited edition model created specifically for the American market by Davosa USA, the brand’s well-known distributor in America. This unique watch is one of two limited-edition timepieces, the other being the Ternos Sixties Golden Seahorse Special US Edition. Davosa USA provided us with both of these models for review; let’s dive in and get to know the first model together in this article!
Let’s start with a formal introduction. The full name of this watch is Ternos Sixties Faded Blue Seahorse Special US Edition. The Ternos collection of Davosa is a collection of Diving watches. Davosa offers a wide range of models in this collection – Ternos Ceramic, Ternos Ceramic GMT, Ternos Medium, Ternos Sixties, Ternos Professional and Ternos Pro GMT.
The Faded Blue Seahorse Special US Edition is part of the Ternos Sixties series. The Ternos Sixties line was inspired by old diving timepieces from the 1960s. This 1960s influence can be seen in the casing of these watches, which are 40mm in diameter and 12mm in height, as well as the restrained case and bezel design.
For the Sixties Faded Blue Seahorse Special US Edition Davosa is using a black aluminium bezel with a white diving scale. Davosa chose an aluminium dial, to enhance the vintage look and to create a special atmosphere around this watch. The dial of the watch, as the name of the watch hints, comes with a blue-black dial. The upper part of the watch (from 9 o’clock to 12 o’clock) is blue, while the bottom part of the dial is black. The indexes and the hands are filled with vintage white-cream super luminova. This combination, with the blue-black dial and the vintage style indexes gives this watch a cold-vintage look. A sapphire crystal is covering the dial, unlike the rest of the Sixties models, which are using a high quality mineral glass.
Inside the watch we find Davosa DAV3021 movement. Davosa watches are all Swiss made.
To qualify for the Swiss Made label, a watch must meet the following criteria:
- At least 60% of the manufacturing costs must be incurred in Switzerland.
- The movement must be assembled, adjusted, and tested in Switzerland.
- The final inspection must be carried out in Switzerland.
Davosa assembles and inspects their watches in Switzerland, and they use Swiss movements in their watches. The DAV3021 calibre is now based on the Sellita SW200-1 calibre, one of the most well-known and widely used Swiss movements, which is used by a wide range of manufacturers. The fact that Davosa is using this calibre, is that in a case of an inaccuracy of the calibre or any other problem, you can go to any local watchmaker, and he should be able to fix it easily. But, it’s important to understand that the SW200 is one of the most reliable and robust calibres in watch industry, which is considered the workhorse of the swiss watch industry, especially after ETA stopped selling calibres to 3rd party brands, so you shouldn’t expect any problem with those movements. Anyway, if there’s any problem with the watch, Davosa USA is offering 2 years warranty for all of their watches, so you shouldn’t really worry too much.

Davosa is offering this watch with a metal bracelet, but if you prefer leather straps, you can also order one with a wide selection of high quality leather straps in different colours. The unit we received for review comes with a metal bracelet, which was very comfortable on the wrist and easy to wear all day long.

The caseback of the watch is beautiful. On the watch’s back, Davosa engraved a seahorse with the American flag embedded within it. The execution is truly outstanding, paying homage to the two worlds that are harmoniously intertwined in this watch by combining the marine world on one side with the seahorse and the American flag on the other. We’ve asked Davosa why they chose the Seahorse, and they answered that the Seahorse is one of the most noble sea creatures out there, small, unique, and always beautiful to watch.

Another feature of this watch that we enjoyed was the screws Davosa supplied with the band. These screws are somewhat elevated from the bracelet, giving it a unique appearance and making it appear somewhat more sturdy. We’ve recently seen these screws on Tudor models, which made us a little bit curious, so we went and checked, and it appears that Davosa was the first to launch this design, as an homage to the vintage diving watch models.

The Ternos Sixties Faded Blue Seahorse Special US Edition is an all-around stunning watch that has a distinctly vintage appearance on the one hand and some modern touches on the other. The watch feels like a perfect fit for any wrist, no matter how big or small, and altogether, it has a unique appearance and is quite pleasant to wear. One more advantage of this size and height, is the fact that this watch can be a perfect fit for women and men, making it a unisex watch.
We have reviewed several Davosa timepieces in the past, and each time, the watches feel far more opulent than they actually are. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are excellent, and trust us when we say that people will ask you what watch it is a lot.
The Ternos Sixties Faded Blue Seahorse Special US Edition is a watch you should take into consideration if you’re seeking for a contemporary diving watch with a dependable calibre, but with homage to the glorious era of the 1960’s diving watches.

As for pricing, Davosa is always offering a wonderful value for money, and this watch is no exception. At first, we were expecting a higher price tag, since its a limited edition, but we were happy to find out that this watch is priced at $919 only, a great price tag for a swiss made diving watch. Although this price range is full of different watch brands, we feel that Davosa is giving an exceptional value for money, especially if you consider the fact that you are getting 2 years warranty and a limited edition …
