Microbrand Watch World (MBWW) aims to deliver honest, accurate, and transparent coverage of the microbrand and independent watch industry. This page explains how our content is created, reviewed, and maintained.
Who Writes Our Content
All MBWW articles are written by identified authors. The majority of our editorial content is written by our founder and editor-in-chief, Gil Tamam, with contributions from our writers Shony Mordehay and Franz Rivoira. Each author’s name and link to their profile appears on every article they write. Full biographical information for each team member is available on our Editorial Staff page.
How We Create Content
Previews are based on information provided by watch brands (press releases, specifications, images) combined with our editorial analysis and industry context. When a preview is based solely on brand-provided materials, we state this.
Hands-On Reviews are based on physical examination of the watch. We note how the watch was obtained (purchased, loaned for review, or provided as a sample) and how long we spent with it.
Industry Analysis and Knowledge articles draw on primary data sources, published industry reports (such as the Deloitte Swiss Watch Study), and our own editorial experience covering the microbrand segment since 2016.
Interviews are conducted directly with brand founders and industry figures. We edit lightly to keep the subject’s voice intact.
Sponsored Content
Sponsored articles and brand partnerships are always labeled with a visible “Sponsor” tag identifying the sponsoring brand. Sponsored content is still written by our team and reflects our honest take. Sponsors don’t get to approve or change what we write.
Fact-Checking and Accuracy
We verify technical specifications against official brand sources. When we cite industry data or research, we link to or name the original source. If we discover an error after publication, we correct it and note the correction with the date of the update.
Corrections Policy
When we find a factual error – or when a reader or brand points one out – we fix it quickly. Corrected articles display an “Updated” date. If the correction changes something meaningful, we add a note explaining what changed and why.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
MBWW’s founder and editor-in-chief, Gil Tamam, is also the CEO of DAVOSA-USA (davosa-usa.com), the exclusive US distributor of Davosa Swiss watches, since 2017. This is a material relationship, and we disclose it because we believe in being upfront about it.
Here’s how we handle Davosa coverage:
- All MBWW articles about Davosa products include a disclosure statement at the bottom of the article identifying this relationship.
- Davosa advertising on MBWW is clearly labeled as advertising and is visually distinct from editorial content.
- Hands-on reviews of Davosa products, when published, acknowledge the relationship and specify how the watch was obtained.
The same goes for any other potential conflict – if someone on the MBWW team has a financial or personal tie to a brand we’re covering, we disclose it in the article.
Use of AI
All MBWW articles are written by human members of our editorial team. In some cases, we use AI tools to assist with content structure, wording refinement, graphic elements, or research support. The final call on what we publish always sits with our writers and editors.
