I’m a watch collector, it’s in my DNA. My father is an aficionado who has been collecting rare timepieces for over 60 years, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that his son would walk a similar path.
My collection ranges from Omega, Vacheron, Franck Muller, IWC, and recently I’ve been very intrigued by the latest trend of “micro brands”. My first micro brand “leap of faith”, was the Baltic MR01 with salmon dial and open caseback. For the price point of around 500 euros, it was definitely worth the investment.
I came across this watch strap maker on Instagram, who was making these cool, rugged looking custom straps and in one of the pictures, I saw this spectacular teal/blue dialed watch and I knew then and there I had to get one of those!
After speaking with Esfiander, owner and maker of Bahrami Straps and Watches, I realized the piece was for sale and not only that, it was limited to 9 (!!!) pieces only.

The experience from the beginning was incredible. The watch comes with several, custom made, straps and Esfiander wanted exact sizes so he could custom make them for me specifically. Something I’ve not experienced before. Not only that, he asked me for my shirt size, indicating he wanted to include a “gift”. I didn’t know what to expect
The thing intriguing me the most, is the fact he’s originally from Iran (living in Canada) and I live in Israel. Now for those who turn on the news once in a while, know Israel and Iran aren’t best buds, to say the least.
The conversations with Esfiander made me realize even more, our regimes shouldn’t and cannot define if we get along or not.
About 3 weeks after the order, I received a note from the post office to pick up the package. I was more than excited, to say the least.

I received this beautiful pouch, with the watch, 4 straps and a heartwarming personal note.

And now about the watch, according to the specs from the website:
The Bahrami Eucalyptus Sport: a limited edition of just 9 pieces. Crafted with a 42mm polished stainless steel case, its grained dial features a double-layer sandwich construction filled with Swiss C3 lume for depth and a stunning 3D effect. Each watch comes with three straps, including a personalized canvas strap.

Case
- 316L stainless steel
- Diameter 42mm, lug to lug width of 22mm and 12.8mm height
- Anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal
- 200 meters water resistant
Movement
- Automatic NH35
- regulated in-house (+- 4 seconds per day)
- Hacking second
- 21600 vph
- 41 hour power reserve
Dial
- Two layers sandwich construction scientific sector dial
- Rough grained texture
- Swiss superluminova c3 filled dial and hands
Straps
- Hand-crafted and customized rolled Edge canvas strap
- 2 additional strapco straps, one sueded brown and one black rubber
So I’ve been wearing the piece on my brown suede strap for a couple of days now, and it wears perfectly. I can’t stop staring at the dial, because the color and the texture are something I’ve not seen before.
One of the minor things I would’ve wanted to see though, is engravings on the caseback stating it actually is a limited edition of 9 pieces (which is insane for the price point of US$700).
I would definitely keep an eye out for his next projects, this guy is going places!
Ow and the gift? This cool silk shirt that I rocked with the watch and cigar earlier this week.
